Yellow - soft type: holds water and it is perfect for washing windows and Fibreglass surfaces. 
Blue - medium type: perfect for all around cleaning. 
White - hard type: perfect for deck washing, rough and particularly dirt surfaces. 

They adapts perfectly to Star Brite Extend-A-Brush handles: 
Standard 4000 - Extend Wash 4001 and Big Boat 4005.
